I'm delighted to have worked on this project to create a unique and fun design for GFW Clothing. These are beautifully crafted shirts, a personal wardrobe favourite, and now a wonderful opportunity to showcase my birds in such fashion!

The best thing about these shirts is the variety of body shapes they accommodate - straight and tall, curvy pears, hourglasses, men, women and everyone inbetween - and larger chests are rewarded with a hidden bust button or two
My wife and I already had quite the collection before randomly meeting the people behind the brand at a local Pride event. Some chats and friendship followed, then they came to an art show and asked about using my birds for a design.
The painting behind the shirt
Painting is how I work things out, so I began imagining a rotating pattern of busy birds, circles of friends and their interactions. 'The one with all the birds' is a social canopy featuring blue skies and silver birch trees, populated with woodland birds.
It's quite an abstract one for me, full of texture and detail, lots of fun to paint and so much going on whatever the angle!
The painting provides all the elements for the design and pattern for this exclusive shirt collaboration.

THE ONE WITH ALL THE BIRDS artwork is now available as a limited edition print, alongside two smaller supporting images, my new "circle of friends".
Giclee printed onto museum heritage fine art paper, each copy comes with a certificate of authenticity, in a presentation sleeve or rolled in a tube for posting.
