BLOSSOMS AND BIRDS Looking up at the birds in the trees on a cold crisp day, the interlocking branches providing perches for posing and morning conversations.

ROCK ROSE ROBIN A favourite bottle and alliterative bird, the patterns influenced by the branding, and the foreground depicting key botanical ingredients (sea buckthorn, blueberry, rose) - @rockrosegin is described as a "zesty yet berryful" tipple 🙂 This was a Christmas commission last year - a great new addition to my #boozeybirds series and the client was pleased.

FOXGLOVES AND FERNS Earlier this year my garden was full of foxgloves and I started this painting... then took a while to finish as other parts of the garden distracted me from my studio 😬 It also reminds me of long walks in the countryside, in particular when Clare had a new camera and was persistent in lengthy attempts to capture the bee drinking from a flower cup, that was a long walk that day... 🙄 I love how this one has turned out, botanical with the fern and birds and butterflies

IN THE TREES - BLOSSOMS AND BIRDS Looking up to life above, blue skies and busy trees. This painting was finished and sold late last year, and is now the cover star for my 2022 calendars To celebrate this, I am offering a special price for the limited edition prints - A2 (38x57cm) for £75 - quality paper and print, includes certificate and UK P&P

GARDEN BUFFET AT NUMBER 82 This painting was commissioned to celebrate a mother's birthday and the pride and joy that is their garden 🙂 "the birds that visit throughout the year in particular. My parents spend an obscene amount on bird feed but they get a raft of species making regular stops" I enjoyed this one as I share the garden love and enjoy watching all the birds who visit the feeders

BLUEBELLS - HITCH WOODS I've painted the bluebells many times over many years, and I will again... I love the colours and Hitch Woods in particular for the tall trees and dense carpet of flowers, for memories of all the walks to and from and inbetween 🙂

CHARLTON FIELDS - HITCHIN Like many others this family are heading across the fields, towards Charlton with their dog 🙂 I love when a commission encourages me to explore more of my local area, as I sketched views and took photos, I was intrigued to know where everyone was going and took a longer walk once the painting was finished. Saw the pigs in Charlton and the source of the River Hiz, Kites circling above sheep, a picnic lunch in a wood watching smaller birds... a lovely explore!

CAMPERVAN ADVENTURES - NORTH NORFOLK Although it's based on another couples adventures in their campervan, it's full of memories for me also. Left to right, is Holkham Hall and the pinewoods that link to Wells-next-the-sea, with beach huts lining the beach and a tiny train track leading into the harbour, then out along the coast road to Blakeney. The mapped details combine with the heather and wildflowers in the foreground to describe this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

HOLLYHOCK AND HOSTA September's calendar image for 2022 is one of the first in a new series inspired by all my lockdown gardening. Turns out there's little I enjoy more than having my hands covered in soil tending to my plants and vegetable crops, while listening to the birdy visitors. My mum has this same hollyhock in her garden and loves her hostas, the dirt is definitely in my genes and on my jeans.

RED KITES OVER WIMPOLE Red Kites and Blue Skies! A day much like today, crisp and free of clouds, great for a bobble hat and a long walk. The painting shows Wimpole Hall amongst the grounds of the estate, with "Capability" Brown's landscaping and Folly, the woodland and lake, the old rectory and church with the walled garden and farm in the distance. Quite fancy heading there now for a stroll today...

WOODLAND BIRDS 14 A large painting I had been working on for a while was finally completed last year with the addition of some autumnal yellows shining through the woodland. It can be tricky with the big ones to know when they're finished, but I love the light in this one, and all the birds gathered round and chatting amongst the trees

EDINBIRD GIN A favourite bottle of gin with 5 goldcrests to represent the siblings who commissioned this for their sister's special bird-day. Edinburgh Gin lists lavender, pine buds, mulberries, and cobnuts in their ingredients, which I've included in the botanical foreground, together with a Scottish thistle pattern in the background.
