perfect for sunny days, this one was on my list from the start, and so pleased how it turned out; the bottle, birds and garnishes, the champagne cork and background bubbles, but mostly the ice cube

BACARDINALS

Inspired by the birthday girl's favourite tipple and an amazing word play with this beaut of a bird.

The cardinal is found in North America but visited last weekend for this collaboration and family party 😉 Commissioned by my mum for her sister - what a lovely project to work on

BIRD DAY BUBBLES

A celebratory one for birthday cheers - it took a time to paint all the bubbles but I do love the background to this little bird party!

BOMBAY BLUE TITS

Not quite a pun, but I just love the sound of the alliterative title. Again it features an imagined still life of birds, bottle and botanicals, with a foreground of lemon and juniper, and a background pattern of coriander leaves.

EDINBIRD GIN

A favourite bottle of gin with 5 goldcrests to represent the siblings who commissioned this for their sister's special bird-day.
Edinburgh Gin lists lavender, pine buds, mulberries, and cobnuts in their ingredients, which I've included in the botanical foreground, together with a Scottish thistle pattern in the background

HOUSE MARTINIS

inspired by mother-in-law's favourite tipple. Dry Martini, House Martins and Olives, shaken not stirred!

KING FISHERS GIN

Possibly my favourite gin of all.

First tried this 5 years ago one on our "mimi-moon" in Norfolk and immediately enjoyed the delicious savoury taste, a little salty like the sea.

It's made in Aldeburgh, which seems to me to be a place all about the pebble shore, hence the background pattern. A foreground of foraged botanicals (rock samphire, wood aven, spignel and bog myrtle) and of course, perfectly paired with the king who shares its name :)

RIOJA ROBIN
